Discord bot setup
Invite Tessera, set channel permissions, post raffle embeds.
Discord does three jobs in Tessera: sign-in, role / server gates, and posting raffle embeds + winner announcements.
Before you start
You need Manage Server (or Administrator) in the Discord server to invite the bot. If you don’t, send the invite to a server admin.
Invite the bot
Authorize Tessera
Fastest: open Invite Tessera bot while logged into Discord, pick the server, Authorize.
Includes Pin Messages (needed for /raid setup to pin the guide).
Or invite from Tessera
Sign in → Create a team or Team setup → Add Bot to Server. You can also use Add bot on Create / Edit → Discord if the server is missing.
Confirm
In Discord: Server Settings → Members — Tessera is listed. Drag the Tessera role above roles you will gate on. In Tessera: Create → Discord — the server appears in the dropdown.
Channel permissions
In the channel you post raffles / winners, Tessera (or your bots role) needs:
- View Channel
- Send Messages
- Embed Links
- Attach Files (recommended)
Without those, Post to Discord fails with Missing Access.
Discord tab
On create / edit:
- Server — where the bot lives for this raffle
- Channel — raffle embed
- Role / ping — optional
@role/@here/@everyone - Winners channel — optional separate results channel
Discord
Post the giveaway to a channel and ping a role when it goes live.

Illustrative UI sketch — not a live embed
From the raffle page, Post to Discord. Entrants use Join / View Giveaway on the embed.
Role gates
- Bot in the same server as the role.
- Entrant has the role, then reconnects Discord on Tessera.
- Requirement points at that server + role.
Missing Access
The channel almost always blocks send. Allow Tessera Send Messages + Embed Links, then post again.
