The Idea
There are thousands of languages spoken across the globe today. Some are spoken by over a billion people. Others cling on with only a few dozen native speakers left. Heritage is an attempt to hold a small piece of that vast spectrum: 4,444 pieces, each one representing a real, documented language from somewhere on Earth. Not every language that exists (that would be impossible to capture in any collection), but a wide, deliberate cross-section of humanity's linguistic diversity, from the languages you speak every day to ones you may never have heard of.
The Art
Each piece in this collection is hand-drawn abstract art, with no visible consistency, no direct message, and no pattern. At Heritage, we appreciate the beauty in the perfect imperfection of the human mind...and hand (of course).
