Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2025
Summary
Tessera uses only strictly-necessary and functional cookies — to keep you signed in, protect sign-in, and remember onboarding. No advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking cookies. The full list is in the table below.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work in comparable ways. This Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Tessera uses and your choices. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
How we use cookies
We use cookies only where they are necessary to run the Service securely and reliably — principally to keep you signed in, to protect sign-in flows, and to remember your onboarding state.
Cookies we set
The categories of cookies the Service relies on:
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session / auth | Keeps you signed in after you authenticate (a signed token). Set HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax, and Secure in production. | Strictly necessary | Session / until sign-out |
| OAuth state | Short-lived value set during Discord / X sign-in to protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). | Strictly necessary | ~10 minutes |
| X verification | Short-lived value used while verifying ownership of your X account. | Strictly necessary | Short-lived |
| onboarded | Remembers that you have completed (or dismissed) account onboarding so we do not prompt you again. | Functional (necessary) | ~12 months |
| Hosting / security | Set by our hosting/CDN for load balancing, request routing, and abuse prevention. | Strictly necessary | Session – short-lived |
Third-party cookies & storage
When you use certain features, third parties may set their own cookies or browser storage that we do not control:
- Discord and X/Twitter set cookies on their own domains during sign-in and verification, governed by their privacy policies.
- Wallet providers (for example, WalletConnect and browser-extension wallets) may use storage to manage wallet connections when you choose to link a wallet.
Please review those providers’ policies for details on their cookies.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies. Because the cookies we set are strictly necessary or functional, blocking or deleting them may break sign-in or cause the Service to stop working correctly — for example, you may be repeatedly signed out or re-prompted to onboard.
Since we do not use advertising or tracking cookies, there is no separate ad-preferences control to manage; your browser controls cover everything we set.
Changes & contact
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves; we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Questions? Contact us at yvngxruddy@gmail.com.
