WONKIES Wonkies is a fully onchain pixel art collection on Ethereum, co-created with its community before mint. Each Wonkie is a 50×50 pixel creature built from three layers (body, eyes, and mouth), rendered in 7 colors on a white background. The aesthetic is deliberately crooked: strange lines, broken eyes, and uneven mouths are the language of the project, not mistakes. What makes Wonkies different is that the final collection isn't fixed yet. The canon, meaning the traits that actually make it in, is decided before mint through community participation, not voting. The system starts with 100 bodies, 100 eyes, and 100 mouths, but only 80 of each survive into the final collection. The rest stay in the Unstable Library. Participation happens in WONKLAB, where each person gets one encounter with an unstable Wonkie. You can reroll a layer, redraw it your own way, or stabilize the form as-is: one limited intervention, not infinite edits. There's no public voting or influencer leaderboard. Instead, Wonkies uses behavioral selection: traits people keep gain a stability signal, traits people reroll or redraw gain a weakness signal. The leaderboard is made of surviving traits, not people. Redraws must be shared publicly to enter the pool, keeping the whole experiment transparent. Wonkies is fully CC0: no rights reserved, everything in the public domain. When a contributor's trait enters the canon, it becomes shared.
