Inkwells With Inkwells we’ve built the survival mechanic directly into the smart contract, so the collection behaves more like a game than a static NFT drop. We start with 4,444 Inkwells on Ink, and every minter receives an initial $AETHER airdrop so they can begin refilling their vessel. From there, each Inkwell runs on a timer. Holders need to refill their Inkwell with $AETHER every day. If you miss a day, your streak resets. If the Inkwell remains unfilled for 2 days, the NFT is burned permanently by the contract. That means the supply isn’t fixed at 4,444 forever — it can only decrease as the game progresses. We’re also building a dedicated holder experience where you can check your Inkwells and visually see their current Ink level, how healthy they are, and how close they are to running dry. We want this to feel alive, so there will be animations and visual states that change as an Inkwell gets closer to disappearing forever. We also want to reward the holders who actually participate. Wallets that consistently keep their Inkwells alive for longer streaks — for example 10, 20+ days — can receive periodic $AETHER rewards/airdrops, giving active holders more fuel to keep surviving. So the loop becomes: Mint → receive $AETHER → refill → build a streak → watch your Ink level → earn rewards → keep surviving.
